Product Details

The hot water extraction process was experimentally tested by Dr. Karl A. Clark and his team in the low ceiling basement laboratory of the University of Alberta Power Plant in 1923-1924. They developed a process to separate the oil by mixing the sands with hot water, aerating the resulting slurry, and finally floating the oil off as a froth.
