About Soul of Canada

Soul of Canada is an Alberta based collective of passionate writers, researchers, historians, and visual artists. Producing historical material in a variety of formats ranging from calendars and framed archival photographs  to books, digital media, and even film, our diverse talents and company capabilities create award winning multimedia products featuring both historical and contemporary themes.

Our mission is to bring Canadian history and heritage to life. As accomplished story tellers we believe history
is something to be enjoyed by all. Through our writing and the use of rare archival images, we strive to make history accessible, engaging, and relevant; helping paint a captivating picture of the past for our diverse readership.

Over the last 10 years we have developed and refined our signature “history showcase calendar”, which we are often told is more like a book than a calendar with its many fascinating articles, wealth of engaging archival images, and illustrated timelines. Much of our material covers lesser known yet historically significant topics, and we feature photographs from public archives and private collections that would likely never be seen by  the public were it not for our projects. We are a valuable bridge from archive to public eye.

It is our belief that for companies with a long legacy, history awareness is important for employee pride, providing a sense of meaning and purpose. We love collaborating with businesses and organizations to uncover, record and present their history in a range of engaging multimedia formats.

Canadians have not lost their interest in history, but have been discouraged by long, wordy tomes which cater to scholars instead of the general public. Seeking to change that, we provide short informative historical accounts of pivotal people, companies, events and projects which showcase Canada’s past and evolution.
